Do I need patches, addons or anything?

Dunno! Just arrived on my desk at work, and my bosses don't like me engaging in aerial combat operations during working hours !! :p

I have it although not installed atm!
Very cool sim/combat game but quite complicated
V nice graphics (still quite demanding on new systems!)
Formation take offs look v cool in your fast jets!
Works multiplayer
Complicated sounds bad. Not a mega fan of flight sims, i prefer to be able to take off, shoot stuff, bomb stuff, and dog fight without having to push flaps, air brakes, and twiddly bits.
I do like WW2 flight combat games though.
Have you got European Air War?

Well gunny-in lock on, u get in & scratch your head for 10 mins tryin to start the engines!!
Shooting something down at long range means actually using the weapons system to paint the target,designate it , choose weapon them maybe y get to launch!
I quite like those immersive games but not everyones cup of tea - hope epoch does as well!
I'll give it a go, i'm up for anything. The standard version is only 15p on Amazon lol

Watch myself float to the ground for half an hour.

I think she was saying 'pull up' .....
Went to the pub
Graphics look really nice, and the flight dynamics seem very realistic. Will spend some more time on it tonight, but learning curves don't scare me so I think I'm gonna like it!

Cant beat a bit of realism, I love how in silent hunter unless you fast foreward itll take you 3 months doing one patrol out of a 2 year career

There has to be an easier flight sim, well combat flight sim anyway lol.
I've had this for a while.
Not installed at the minute.It took so bloody long to get the hang of each individual control that it just ate up the time.It is a flight sim though,not an arcade game.A bloody good one as it happens.
I just fell in love with the A10.

This a huge pack with a lot of different planes to crash horribly.
If you want a hard core flight sim then get it.I reckon it would take a good few hundred flying hours to become operationally sound/effective online though.
Major problems installing it, keeps locking up on Runtime Error when unpacking sounds

hmmm, I only have them with a bad disc.....
Tried giving the disc a clean?
Brand new disc, texted Epo and got hold of VB6, problem solved :D Damn it's hard lol. Have to find a manual somewhere so i can have it to hand. Tis good though. Just installed the patch so i can have a fly around at the moment, for once my stick is behaving itself aswell!.

Cool, we can all crash/get shot down together!
Posting a couple of screenies from last night - when me & epoch finally got it working - just after gunny went!
Gunny went off in a huff, crashed in bed and finally got to sleep about 2-3am.
Gunny isn't happy with pipex, gunny is going to blow pipex up as they've got shittier since they were bought out.
Pipex are wank.
My sentiments exactly.
The fact it worked fine on my BT line with the exact same router I'd previously had on my Pipex line proves they're 'doing' something.
I'm gonna look for another ISP without a doubt. Might get another BT line, or perhaps Demon. Dunno. Just not Pipex.
Nat - perservere with us here. We had a great game last night so it IS possible!
Edit: Just noticed Pipex is a Tiscali company. If ever there was a reason to jump ship that's it .. I'm outta there.
Oh i'll perserve never fear. I know tiscali bought pipex out a while ago and it's gone down hill since then.
I spoke to Pipex this morning. The assured me they're not doing any traffic shaping or IP filtering.
They've suggested I do a traceroute comparison between the BT connection (which works) and the Pipex connection (which doesn't). That way they can see if it's going somewhere wrong on their network.
Seems fair. Will try later.

I'm 1.5 klicks from the exchange, i've measure it :p so i'd be looking at least 20 meg. Unfortunately the wife sobered up this morning and said i can't have it because we can't afford the disconnect fee from pipeshite, so i'm stuck with them until fecking April.
Epoch how can do a traceroute on pipex? To see where the problem is?

Me and Epo managed a game earlier, around 3ish this afternoon. Instant login for Hyperlobby and Ubi.com and straight into the game

It's not very user friendly though
But the effects are great and the scenery is alot better than microsoft flight sim. Actually it is user friendly, just hard
