Hooked my old sidewinder joystick up to PR the other day for some test flying - boy was it crap!

Is this just my joystick or what?

And yes, I considered it mught be my flying but tried every combo of sensitivty settings with the same result - I would rate myself as 'competent' with training issues!

Looks like it's back to keyboard & mouse which seems way better!

What do you guys use? - might consider a new J/S

I've got a Logitech Extreme 3D. Nearly 2 years old now and no problems with it whatsoever.

I did use a stick but found it wouldn't keep it's settings properly so returned to the good old keyboard and mouse.

i can do everything a joystick can do, With a mouse and keyboard mainly because i have always used it since Bf1942 came out

i never have space for the bloody thing anyway

I first used a joystick in BF1942. I had already got reasonable good with keyboard and mouse, and when I used the joystick, I found myself a bit worse, but then I got used to it, and got better than before. It is all a matter of practise really, and getting used to something different, although, better in my opinion.

For Light helicopters i use my Mouse but such as Blackhawk's, or heavier helicopters I use my joystick - Saltek Cyborg Evo

I have the Saitek cyborg evo too, (the wired one not the wireless) and its a good stick but generally I cant be bothered flying :D
I used to like flying the blackhawks, I was one of the few that could handle the acceleration but with my gap of not playing for a few months between .5 and .6 I lost all my flukey skillz as epoch and charmed found out one night on jabal when we ended up narrowly missing rooftops/mountains/ground then ended up in the sea upside down pissing ourselves on voip.

I been playing Sim games since back at 99 or so, never had any problem with my juystick, but I find it a bit funny, in PR, it messes around, it wants to turn left by its self. it only does it on apache. :/

and hardcore instable when flying jet, I Dont have that problem in any other games, I have tried any kind of settings. still get that problem, its so annoying.
hopefuly it will get fixed, now I dont know if the problem is the juystick, or some setting. any one else got this problem?

Also use a nice, dirt cheap, MS sidewinder. I find I fly a helluva lot better on the stick than I ever did with kb/mouse, mostly down to being a flightsim geek when I was younger I guess - just seems natural to fly like that.

The LB's a pig to fly on it, and the blackhawk's twitchy at times too, but so long as you use rudder and throttle to compensate when the birds start to fly sideways or loose alt, it's usually fine.

Much harder than BF2 tho.

If i could get on i'd actually try my stick again, but seeing as though i can't get past the fucking login screen i won't be.
