Was driving up to Newcastle on Friday with my girlfriend.

We were driving up the A1 through Yorkshire and she remarked "oooh look at those funny looking helicopters!"

So I looks up a little, and sees not one, but TWO Apaches, flying a couple of hundred feet above us, following the road.

They looked awesome!

We had them as an escort for about 15 minutes before they flew off to the east - presumably to Dishforth or Catterick or somewhere.

If only they'd have cleared a space in the traffic ahead of us! What are those Hellfires for!!?

They must do some sort of target stalking practice, I remember when I used to drive a green 7.5 tonner, a few times when I'd been up to Inverness/Elgin I'd see jets stalking me, not just paranoid the roads were fairly empty! :o
