I may come under fire for this, I may not, but it seems like less and less T&T folk seem to be coming on the server.

what im getting at is whenever the server's empty i still join, as it gets it seen by those filtering out unpopulated servers.

On today the server started slow (as seems the norm nowadays) but bit by bit more people started joining until we had a good lil game of 7 a side going, problem was most of these fellas were n00bs and without mics, yet (in my mind at least) they stayed on because it was good to have a server regular who wasnt taking the piss every time they needed to be told summin new and i tried as epoch does to give them input into the next maps that would be played, and more and more people were joining.

so a good game rolling i have to go away for 40 minutes to pick up my girlfriend, checking back on the logs, not more the 15-20 minutes after i left the server all of these chaps had vanished off to another server (probably because it was more populated)

I know it seems daft but i cant help but feel that if another community member were online that maybe the server might have kept going.

Now my big point is though sometimes it can be more fun going on more populated servers, and sometimes nothing happens when you join T&T and when someone does join its another vanilla n00b (frustrations). Those n00bs are the people who we can either make pass by our server by completly or they can be people who we cn teach the true values of using tactics and teamwork in game, something that appears to be becoming lost in PR as time goes on.

With the big influx of newbie players and servers popping up left right and centre as the mod becomes more and more popular its our choice to decide whether we accept the duty to spend the boring times to teach these few (and often arrogant and annoying) players just how good this Mod is and its true potential so that those players may perhaps become more server regulars that in turn will show more people the way of T&T the way it all should be :D

just my two cents, well more like 50 dollars but hey i love this server :P anyone on tonight?

A little idea. When you are on and you want to fill the server up, put on a small map like street (which is becoming very popular) or the 16 player version of a map, then change to a bigger one when more people join.:)

I think that some people are reluctant to join if a big map is on and not many playing yet.

I too an a homeboy! I tend to go nowhere else but my server - after all - it costs a fair amount to keep it going so I like to get some use out of it!

I really hope other [T&T] members will give this some thought, or it defeats the objective of joining !!

Alex - great suggestion. I'll add Street as soon as I get a chance, if not today then when I get back home on Tuesday.

yea it does sound like a great idea to add lil maps to the list, and rack them up in a cycle till the servers really rolling then stick on basrah etc... dam forgot about street, love that one

Ok I tried to add Street and it's not available as a Conquest map. Extraction only. And Extraction mode is broken in 0.6.

So no Street :(

I was sure it was available as conquest. If someone can check and let me know, I'll get our server provider to fix it.

I am 100 million % sure it is available as conquest/AAS2. I have played it many times like that, never extraction.

For my sins, and this can be verified, i have been rushed off my feet with family life.
"OH gods i hear you say, not again!!" But let me post a wee story...


Many many moons ago, i was unemployed, sick as a dog for 2 years and just got the internet.
There i met a loon called "Epoch" through mutual friends.
Epoch was ace and ran this caln called MKP or Modem's Killing People. Now we all had poxy 56k dial ups and we f**king owned SOF2.
*fast forward*
ADSL happened and we still owned. People came and went from the clan but it remained.

I left on a hiatus to play silly sods in world of warcraft for 18 months. You never guess what? When i visited the clan site i was welcomed back with open arms. Epoch was there, Exo was there, Birdy, glovy, Nob, erm i mean Rob, Frank the bunny. Still going strong still having a giggle.

Fun was had, much laughter and mirth at Exo falling asleep on TS whilst shitefaced on a decent whiskey. (He was still there lunch time the following day!!! snoring!)

once again i left to sort out my personal life. I came back a few months later and what do you know? MKP was still there giving hell bent for leather. Exo, Epoch and co where there and hugging and smiling.

Then the shit hit the fan big time. Friendships were lost, games were lost, servers were no longer visited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The inevitable happened. Someone somewhere decided it was stupid and an email message was sent, another one was sent. This didn't work, so then a text message was sent, and another one till this person found hte right number and got a reply.

Stay with me there is a moral here.

Text messages started to fly left right and centre, then phone calls then games were being played again.

From thos ashes, and believe me you couldn't get any ashier than that trust me if you shot your mums dog and fed it to her, T&T was born.

The boys were back and kicking ass and taking names.

Now one of these boys, still had stuff to sort out. A new baby, a new daughter! and a new house bought and paid for. Life was good. Joy was had.

Now this one blokey couldn't play as much as he wanted to, and boy did he want to. Unfortunately, baby had other ideas about levels of noise coming from daddy's super gob, the laughter and merriment was lost to her. Alls he cared about was the agonising pain of a white tooth tearing through her poorly ickle gums.
She was moved to another room. :)
The this blokey found out money doesn't grow on trees! (Why did no one tell him this!) Savings dried up, and mortgage needed to be paid.

So, a job was needed. To get a job this person needed something called GCSE's. WTF ARE THEM THEN. He asked his wife. Oh they get you jobs? Oh right. So off to college this blokey went - twice a frakking week for 6 hours. Job interviews were coming in for this blokey, so things are looking up. Blokey is fragging knackered after being up from 5am to midnight with 2 kiddies and cooking, cleaning, feeding, tidying, taxing his wifey to worky and kids to nursery and decides, i do have other hobbies like bushcrafting and hiking, so i will take them up again and be a walkabout blokey with a BIG FUCKING KNIFE.

So now blokey is busy as mary hell and suffering insomnia

Anyway so this blokey who has found happiness in his bestest buddies again of so mnay many years, and believe me without them this blokey would of copped it a long time ago, misses the amount of play time he used to have but is too bloody knackered to see his monitor no matter how big it is.

So for the past week, blokey has forgone online gaming for browsing the internet for jobbies to earn spondoolies to keep wifey happy and kiddies clothed and fed. Oh and the mortgage lender happy.

I am still here guys, and always will be, just not playing as often as i can for all the above.

Wes and Andy know and as far as i'm concerned, until i get to know you all better, this is the way it's going to be. I shall be on as and when my brain allows. That is not to say this blokey is buggering off again. that ain't going to happen trust me.

So keep it up Cain, you are an Oak to the community and ain't forgotten.

My heart is with you guys.... I don't need to explain why I frequent so little, my time is family time these days and as an elder lemon, 42 1/2 years young, I savour every minute I can.

That and I play a h3ll of a lot of Rainbow Vegas and Warhawk on the PS3 online means I rarely am around. It comes and goes in spurts, as most things do.

I didn´t mean only street, you change it to whatever map when there are more people on the server.

The current server mapcycle is all maps with UK troops.

I've added Street upon request, as it's a small map and might get the server going when empty - I've no idea whether it's UK or US troops though!

Hills of Hamyong is on the cycle I think too. That used to be UK troops but now it's US. I didn't know that when I added the map! I'll be removing it.

I think you do 'av it chap. TBH though you're best off using BF2CC though, as the in game admin has a bizarre tendency to cause the server to crash, burn, fizzle to nothing, or unexpectedly explode.
