View Full Version : Not so funny Did you know
but it's a topic i've believed in for nearly 20 years.

the dvd, inconvenient truth, well worth the cost.
I really dont like forcing my beliefs on anyone, but this is something we should listen to, even if you dont believe, you'd find it hard to dispute after watching this.
It is freely available to download - I wont tell you where or how.
But don't watch it alone, it's too scarey for that.
My fave review over at Amazon:-
"This DVD makes you want get up and do something, change a light bulb. Lessen your "ECO" footprint. Highly recommend it....."
Have been tempted by this, i've seen enough documentaires (underground ones) and enough "classified" material to know whats happening.
Did you know that it was the us marines that torched the oil wells in the first gulf war? Bush wanted a platoon shot far forward to capture the wells while the main battle group strolled along so they could capture it - then hand it over to said "marines" and set them alight to push the price up and create world wide panic.
And that is a truth, not myth
It would'nt surprise me with the bush family. And all the while, the oil cartels made even more money from over inflated prices. Which means the bush family made money more money too.
fahrenheit 911 anyone?
Also worth *cough* getting is BBC Horizon - global dimming.
if anyone wants it, I can seed it for a night.
I've considered for years, setting up a website dedicated to power friendly devices.
Such as lightbulbs, flouresents, domestic appliences, cars, etc. etc.
But the question is, how much extra power goes into making this power friendly devices?
Plus the list could be endless.
then of course you have disposal to think about.
Roughly the same amount of power goes into making them as do normal household items.
Admittedly i'm about as eco friendly as a tac-nuke, but we do little things to lessen teh impact such as composting, recycling as much of our household waste as possible.
In an ideal world everything should be recyclable, but alas it costs a small fortune to buy most of the eco-friendly replacements out there - money most people cannot afford.
We're a bugger for disposable nappies which i know adds so much to landfill, but to be honest i'd rather use them than trying to wash shit-covered terry nappies.
I had a friend that use to work at BNFL, and the stories he told me made my hair stand on end.
I use a certain d/l type thing so i can grab these items in question at the weekend.
/me suggests making a Gunny and Juice only forum
