Right my DVD burner has decided to become non-existant.
I've managed ot burn one dvd on it so far and now my mobo and pc won't even acknowledge it's existance!

I've tried different cables, having as a slave and a master and i get nada, not a bloody sausage.

I have a samsung and a lite on dvd rom and cdr and they work fine.

Any suggestions would be helpful

Just weird that it's only been used once and now won't work. I'm taking it back to PC Crapola this morning and might invest in an external usb one. Need the storage you see in case of pc breaking

i have an external usb dvd burner, works just fine. as long as i remember to switch it on. if its just for storage would an external hard drive be any good?

Exchanged my knackered one for an external one which installed and works with no problems (good suggestion Haz cheers)

Since when did pc world know more than the pirate pc builder? Bastard wouldn't believe me at first.

its all good in the end. so have u got an external dvd burner or external hard drive? the external hard drive ive got is only good for storage tried running a game from it once and it was slow as fak. but it was good for everything else.
its full (90 gig) of downloaded xbox games atm that i never got round to burning atm. ive been nagging guile82 to give me it back for ages as im always short of disk space.

External dvd burner. Unfortunately it's plugged into my usb extension box which isn't a hi speed one unlike the ones on my pc, but it does the job :D

ur better off burning dvds at slower speeds anyway. somtimes get corrupt games or bad quality films when u burn them at high speeds.

the prices of console games these days i could not afford to buy them, cost me a tenner to get my xbox chipped then i just pay for my blank dvds. must have about 50 games now, although i havent bothered to play 49 of them lol :rolleyes:
