Installing ACE2
Ace2 is updated very regularly (about 3 times a week I recall). Instead of making all of these releases front page news on Armaholic and releasing lots of individual downloads, a program is used that checks your version, and downloads and installs the files needed to bring it up to date.
Step 1: Download and install Six Updater Suite

Step 2: Run 'Six-Updater GUI'.
A dos-style box will open, and proceeds to update itself first. After a while a browser window will appear. This is the GUI.
Step 3: Installing ACE
Click on 'Main' in the GUI window.
In the Preset Config box, select ACE Mod (Vanilla)
Action: Install or Update
Server: Kellys Heroes.eu [This is the server it gets the files from, not where you'll be playing]
Leave setting alone
Execute.
This will open another Dos-Style prompt and synchronise and install the files directly into your Arma directory. It will install several things:
@ACE - the environmental and gameplay changes
@ACEX - all the new content, models etc
@ACE_PLA - Adds the PLA as a faction
@ACE_SM - a sound mod
@CBA - community base addons, required for many mods.
Step 4: Updating
Run the SixUpdater periodically, each new day you play ACE. Simply repeat steps 2 and 3, and it will replace the required files for you. If your ACE isn't up to date with the server, it tells you when you get in game.
Step 5: Playing ACE
Add whatever mods you want to play to your arma2 shortcut, with -mod= before it, with each mod seperated by semicolons, eg:
"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -noSplash -mod=@ACE;@ACEX;@CBA;@ACEX_PLA;@ACEX_SM
Note: ACE is compatible with ARMA2 launchers.
Just run the shortcut. None of the SixUpdater windows need to be open.
Installing any other mods:
Create an @[mod name] folder in your Arma2 directory. Inside it, create a folder called addons, and in this place the .pbo files you downloaded. Any mods that require more than an addons folder will probably have the folders already in place. Then add @[mod name] to the shortcut, as above.
