The Locked Squads Rule

First off, if this is the wrong place to post this, sorry. Here seemed most appropriate.

After playing for a few minutes on your server today, I find myself questioning your locked squads rule. I understand why it's in place, but in the case of today, my friends' squad, locked or unlocked, would have stayed the same. If the squad was locked, we would have waited a minute for me to switch to the correct team and then have a full squad with no need for locking. But, because server admins insisted we leave it unlocked, we instead just kicked anyone who joined the squad that wasn't me. Is that really better than people not joining the squad at all?

Maybe we'd prefer people who had a different attitude than you seem to have playing on our server.

For example: You could have simply let the 6th person who joined the squad know via voip that you were waiting for a friend to join and when they got on you would have to make space for them. Rather than kicking repeated people.

Its not rocket science.

Our rules are not for discussion. They are tried and tested and are designed so the majority of people can have a good time on our server, not for you and your friend.

Did you tell the admin that you/they were waiitng for a member to join? Whilt the rule is there to promote teamwork, we are lenient when it comes to common sense like you have mentioned (most the time ;))

While I warn about locked squads I usually accept the excuse that you're waiting for someone unless it is locked for an extended period of time. I think most our admins would if you explained and asked nicely.

To clarify



Locked squads at the start of a round, when getting your squad together (invites etc) is fine.
Locked squads when one of your number gets disconnected, or auto-teamswitched is fine (explain to an admin if asked).
Locked squad because you're a l337 snip0r and you 'work alone' is not fine (probably get you kicked for being a tosser).
Locked squad because you and your chosen playmate wish to keep a tank/chopper/APC/another toy all for yourself is not fine
Locked squad because you and your clanmates are on TS, or you claim to not speak English is not fine (we don't do clan elitism here)
Locked squad because you're going AFK is not fine unless an admin ok's it.
