Anyone know how to retrieve the CD key from the registry?

http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/9913/arma2reg.jpg

I don't have my Arma2 box.. only the DVD with me. So i don't know what the key looks like.

But depending on which format i view it in, it changes.

Am i looking at the right part of the registry? This is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node

Can anyone who has their arma2 box/key check this for me please?

You won't be able to get your key from the registry (otherwise what point would it serve).

What's your problem? Do you need to reinstall?

Lol, I mean what point would it serve putting a retrievable key in the registry. That would defeat it's point.

Try exporting the entire key, and then import it back into the registry before you install?

Where's your DVD? Nobody able to get to it for you?

I seem to have left the box + key in Bristol & nobody can get it for me.

What would be the problem with having the key in the reg, i know quite a few games store it there.. i think BF2 does.

I'll probably just hold off any format / OS install until i get back to my Bristol house...

You can definately save the registry key and add it to the registry yourself after a fresh install - I've done it. The worst case is having to specify a dodgey key at install, but adding the genuine key straight after.

^^ meaning i can install without my key?..

Assuming i use the same file/folder structure?

What do i need to know/do?

Thanks for any help.

You'll probably (sometimes you do, sometimes you don't, its weird) need a key to install it, but as soon as you install you can change that key - meaning you can use a dodgy one found down the back of the internet. Alternatively, I can pm you mine.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Bohemia Interactive Studio
File:Export, call it ARMA2 or whatever and keep this safe. Uninstall. Reinstall. As soon as you're done installing, run the registry key and it'll change the dogey key into your key. Use the same file structure, but the "MAIN" key can be altered to whatever directory you install ARMA2 in.
Do this before you patch.
