T&T ROF we miss you

Hey guys,
sad to hear you are closing it down but after 1.009 not many people played on it with the stock missions and the constant crashes interrupting the flow. I'd still like to thank you though for the best ROF server of all times, playing on it in November and parts of december had been a blast for me and many people and several of them have been saying the past few days how we miss it.

Jorri and I started a virtual squadron with a few T&T regulars a few weeks ago and with Miggins and Sensenmann amongst our ranks we were hoping to recreate the T&T experience on the hussar server; In order to do that, I would like to ask for MadTommys and Masaqs mission files and for permission to use them on the Hussar server and and to change them in future to make them compatible with possible later patches etc.

Apart from you two and sensenmann, I can only think of WWBrian who made missions, was there anyone else that made missions?

Ever tried Wings of Prey?

I tried the demo, after getting tired of playing il2 online for years it does not seem to offer much new apart from an incompatiblity with my force feedback stick :D

Random spins and stalls, unexpected disconnects from the server, crash to desktop. Everything you get from RoF - and more!

My ROF runs pretty stable actually. What got me hooked on ROF was the flight model that is far more challenging and the far slower speed and generally low energy state of these crates makes for very different "gameplay" imo.
If FFB actually works now, I might consider looking into an updated demo but I basically my interested in ww2 aviation has burned out for a while, hopefully when Storm of War Forever comes out it has changed :D

I ordered Arma 2 and pre-ordered Napoleon: Total War at play.com 1-2 weeks ago, those should serve we well enough for alternatives to ROF :)

As for the server, it's sad that it's had to go - I still love the game but without people constantly around to admin it, it's just too much of a resource hog. I did approach 777 Studios and Neoqb re them funding some community-admin'd servers; using the RoF Community's more mature players as a group of volunteer admins, but whilst I got a promising intially, it fell through.

I wish you guys all the best of luck, and I will certainly be seeing you on your server in the near future :)
