View Full Version : Wanted - NetBook, Notebook or LapTop
Looking for a laptop for email & internet usage for the missus, her present one is driving me nuts!
Ideally something that'll run Win7 happily, but I'm aware many NetBooks don't have the grunt fo rit.
I'm after something recent..i'm not after some old piece of shit.. i already have several that fit that bill.
Thank you.
I just read a review of Asus Eee 1005PE.
10.1" monitor (1024x600)
1.66 GHz
1 GB RAM
250 GB HDD
802.11n wireless
Bluetooth
Webcam
6 cell battery (tested to last 6 hours 55 mins running a HD video in loop, and can reach 14 hours if on powersaving.
Pros were:
Well built cool minilaptop, superior batterytime. Plays HD videos no problem.
Cons:
A bit heavy, still missing some power for daily use.
The cons might show that it's not the perfect for your missus but... and it costs from about £290 in Norway, so you could probably get it a bit cheaper in the UK
Unsure of any specific models, but netbooks can be divided into two types, with the screen resolution being the main indicator of quality. It's well worth going for the higher res ones.
Got a few Toshiba NB200 at work. They're pretty good. Nice screen and keyboard etc etc.
Of course, if you really love your good lady, you'll get her a Macbook.

Looks nice.. yes i'm interested.

I bet the Macbook doesn't have Spider Solitaire & Internet Explorer...meaning it does not have the features my darling wife requires. She has exacting standards.
Lol ... they aren't going spare. I'm merely recommending the model as something I liked.
Your beloved would get much much more from a Macbook than anything a normal Netbook could offer.
I'll check em both out. Cheers

My sister has a Macbook. She's also somewhat whiney and neurotic.
My brother has a Macbook and he's a complete waste of space.
Coincidence? I think not.
I have a Macbook.
You want the same treatment as Heskey do ya? :disgust:

End of discussion about Macs (just change the x axis to "Mac fanboy")
