I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, especially the mission builders if there are solutions to have proper mission results without having to refrain to shooting landed planes.

personaly I feel that until the game mechanics allow one thing or another I think its a question of personal "honour" .
If you make it to the ground alive its the winning pilots fault for not killing you while you were in the air , but I do feel as long as your in the air your a legitemate target dead engine or bits missing is irrelevant.

My opinion only which does not reflect the position of T&T inc Ltd in any way shape manner or form.

well I personally find it cheaper and less honourful to shoot a gliding plane than a landed empty one because that way you let the opposing pilot live while still getting your kill. the obvious solution would be for the defeated pilot to crash on purpose but nobody seems to do that.
