Right people, Im thinking of mounting my 32" samsung tv on my wall (solid brick wall), this wall is actually the outer wall of the house not a internal one which is usuallly like what mdf or something like that.

I dont wanna get a handy man to do it because it will cost a bomb literally, so might get my friend to do it as he has mounted his 40" tv and done it good. (spirit level used lol)

So what mount to go for? Anything I need to know in regards to tv wall mounting? Fittings?

Just make sure you get a proper VESA mount, and make sure it's on securely.

Once mounted, take a few steps back from the TV. Not only will this improve your view, but if it should fall off the wall you won't hurt your toes.

Personally, I think wall mounting is a waste of time. If you must have something on your wall, get some ducks.

get some fuck off screws from B&Q - i would be paranoid that the thing would fall off the wall personally !

Seriously tho the biggest mistake people make when following installation instructions is they assume its a brick wall - check what sort of wall your fixing to, if its a stud wall make sure you use cavity fixings.

I worked as a domestic electrician for 5 years and still do installation work now and then, I've used all 3 of these fixings and in my experience I've found these to be the best for heavy items

These are best

But you need a gun to expand them (although I've done it in the past without one very easly)

alternativly you could use a toggle type fixing like these

http://www.tool-up.co.uk/img/fs/RAW94365.jpg

These are good but have a tendancy to fall down the cavity when you remove the screw so they are one use only.

Thirdly I'd say these

http://img.alibaba.com/img/buyoffer/102293989/cavity_wall_fixing_zinc_anchor_wanted.jpg

They screw into the plasterboard and then you can screw the provided self tapper screw into them.

You could also try screwing directly into the wooden stud but doubtful you'll get all the screws into wood.

If you are fixing to a brick wall just make sure you use some nice deep fixings, internal walls on new houses tend to be thermalite block which is like low density concrete and not good for holding anything up.

Alternatively, put the telly in the corner like normal people. Hang a mirror on the wall, for checking your hair.

hhhmm good points there katash. Well my house is like 10 years old so that kinda explains it all, so inner walls are plasterboard and outer are brick walls.

Main reason for wanting to mount the tv is where it sits its lower than the height of my bed so I dont get a good viewing angle so to say, so really I should go for a tv stand maybe? but like I what do I get hahaha
