View Full Version : A lil helping start...
As you know im getting Black Shark and Microsoft Flight Sim X, and hopefully a Saitek Pro flight pedals to!
Anyways im not sure where I should start with these in terms of mods/addons? anything I need to do basically to be able to play with you guys who play BS and MFSX, and also Lock On...yes I have lock on!
Also do any of you use this trackIR thing?
Screw MSFX, it's not *fun* as a game... get RoF instead ;) :p
BS we play sans mods, when we play it. It's usually too much of a headache, at least for me!
Lockon - see the LOMAC section for a whole raft of good mods.
edit - to clarify... MS FlightSim is *enjoyable*, but it's not *fun*. It's like going for a long walk, calming and relaxing. Rise of Flight is like going for a walk along a sharp ridgeline - it's relaxing, but with the distinct air of danger :)
Ty lol.
And with regards to TIR - Meh, I actually can't fly Rise of Flight when the occasional error happens and the system needs me to restart the game to regain TIR input.
I know a few guys just keep flying without it and use the default view keys - but TIR makes Rise of Flight (or ANY flight sim) just brilliant. After a few hours it feels completely natural to track a target with your eyesssss
I hear TrackIR is a bit expensive? Also what models do you use as theres apparently a 5 version out?
4 works fine, I got a five through ebay for about the price of a 4. You're looking at under £100 for a 4, around £130 for a 5.
Might save up for a TrackIR watching the youtube videos does make it worth it, in terms of flight and fun experience, might try work it for PR to if I get it
Have a look at the youtube video I made demonstrating RoF - I used TIR for that, any time the view shifts to follow the enemy plane (it's an AI one) - that's a small, smooth head movement. No messing around with padlock views or HAT switches :)
Oh and it doesn't work with vBF2 or PR, sadly. Although you can force it to act almost as a mouse emulator in vehicles, but it's pretty pointless tbh!
ArmA/2 and LockOn, BS, FSX and RoF are the trackIR's natural habitat.
