View Full Version : Saitek X52pro - Setup, profiles, help & etc.
Received my x52pro this morning.. It's a beast.
Really impressed with it so far.. all except for the very short USB cable, i'll need an extension.
I'm requesting tips, tricks & profiles.
The games i have and will be using it for are:
Rise of Flight - I've already set this up in game, works nicely. And LockOn, BlackShark, IL2 1946 and Arma2
How the profile software works, modes toggle buttons all seem rather confusing right now... but i'm sure with a play i'll figure it out.
But i'd love to hear the problems you've had, tips & profiles. :)
Thanks.
This (http://www.tacteam.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2491) thread contains a link to my Black Shark profile, details of the 2 or 3 axis that need re-binding ingame and the name of the file that needs renaming/deleting so the MFD doesnt screw up.
I dont use mine for ArmA 1/2 I think its overkill so I just use a 360 gamepad but I do use it for Lockon & RoF ... Have mapped the 2 rotators to fuel mix and radiator so I have analogue control over them.
You'll find the slider is a bit 'jerky' .... Everyone has that problem I'm afraid.
Presently i've set the slider up for the radiator and the closer rotary for the fuel mix.. seemed good as a start. But i'm sure i'll play around with it. They do make the fuel mix control much more precise over my two buttons before.. up & down. Really precise with the rotary.
But fuck me there are a lot of options and shit in regards to BlackShark & Lockon... not sure where to start.. so i haven't.
Cheers for your profile.. i'll check it out! :D
Jesus I just spent nearly 2 hours setting up a BlackShark profile.. and i'm not even finished! Options are endless!
Do pregnant women always snore so loud! So much for a Sunday morning lie in!
Heh, wait until you're in flight and having to remember whether you're in Mode 1 or Mode 3 to select your gears... :p
I'm only using 1 mode for now.. but i'm using the pinkie as a mode modifier?? i.e mod1 +pinkie.... hold pinkie down and everything has a different use!
It is fucking confusing.. really helps having the LCD tell you what button you are pressing!
Yeah, you can also use the clutch button to disengage the stick from the game, so you can hold clutch + any button and the screen will show you what the button does without the button being registered ingame... trés helpful.
HELP:
How do i use my mini mouse as a hat switch in DCS?
I can't figure out how to do this in the profiler. :idiot:
CP i know you know...;)
Who told you that I know? You know too much if you know that I know, but now that I know that you know, theres no knowing what I will do now!
uhm, anyways...
In the profile editor, change "ministick X" and "ministick Y" from mouse X and Y to "bands", both of them.
Im assuming you have set up bands before so I won't go into detail, but just set up 3 "zones" in each, I've got them from 0-35%, 35%-65% and 65-100%, I've left the 35-65% not bound to anything since I don't want it to do anything when im not touching it.
now just add what ever keypress you want to the bands.
I've got zoom in and zoom out to forward and backwards and speed brake deploy and retract to up and down and with the pinkie as the modifier it works as my mic hat.
Hmm cheers mate i'll try it again.. I've done as you said above..and tested in the profiler.. and it seems to give multiple inputs.. i'll try it in game and see how it works.
Now everyone knows!
Hmm, my setup looks like this in the profiler, if it helps:

I tried it mapping my Coolie...does not work for me.. well it kinda works.. but it's unreliable and glitchy. Its doing weird shit..
It might well work on speed brakes and other type switches.. but for HOTAS Hats, where you need precise single key presses.. its all a bit dodgy.
I also use it as my weapon pylon select hat in DCS:BS, before that I used it for both slewing the skhval and zooming in and out and adjusting the gate size, all using bands and it worked flawlessly.
You could try increasing the size of the "neutral" band in the middle, if you are having issues with it triggering side to side when you want it to trigger up or down, or vice versa.
Btw, you are setting up the key presses as key presses and not as macros right?
