GIven my current situation IRL and the inability to afford a complete new high spec rebuild as I planned im looking to acquire the below components to botch together a cheap and small upgrade. To keep my bag of bolt plodding along for another 3-6 months.

The List:

Processor:
One of the below

Socket 939
Preferablly Dual Core

AMD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD) Athlon 64 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athlon_64) 4000 Only Single Core
AMD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD) Athlon 64 FX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athlon_64) (55 - 60) Single Core
AMD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD) Athlon 64 X2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athlon_64_X2) (3600+ - 4800+) Dual core

Or if you have a unused working Intel or AMD processor with a single core speed of 2.4ghz or a dual core 2.2 GHZ with matching motherboard and ram (Ram not needed if mobo accepts ddr)

Memory:

DDR (DDR1 not DDR2)

2-4gb of matched/paired compatable working memory

Graphics Card:

Preferably ATI but not fussed, anything higher than ATI x1650, preferably a 256 or 512mb version

Ill offer a fair price based on the component and its general current value on the second hand market and ill naturally cover any postage costs.

Freebies are HUGELY welcome where possible :)

All I've got kicking about:

Asus P5n-e SLi Motherboard
Thermalright IFX SLi heatpipe chipset cooler

If either of these are a help to you in future, just let us know.
Got nothing kicking about that could be a direct help though.

If i can locate a cheap intel core 2 duo and 2-4gb of ddr2 then your Asus P5n-e sli squaddie would be desirable.. given it works lol

Once I get my new Intel 3Ghz quad tomorrow I'll have a mobo/RAM/CPU going.

Mobo is a Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe
CPU is AMD Athlon X2 5200+
RAM is 4GB DDR2 (4 x 1GB).

which processor are you getting epoch?

Considering its quad and 3gig im guessing the 9650 or the more future proof i7 940 or 950? im guessing 950.

Anyway,

Im interested epoch but im not looking to spend a pretty penny for a 3-6month upgrade... lets talk figures?

I went for this (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148544/show_product_specifications?spectype=extended) CPU. Didn't fancy an i7. No real performance gain, particularly on a single-GPU system. Apparently.

Ummmmm ... not sure about figures. I'll think about it. Will this affect your month's subs? ;)

im suprised since the 920 do stepping is the same price and the 9650's socket is coming to the end of its lifetime.
Also since the 920 will cease to be made sometime after sep and that its reported to clock like a mother (3-3.5 easy on air 4 on water) it should hold its value for a fair long time.

anyway back on topic.

It wont effect my subs depending on how generously you price the parts :)

It's only to tide me over a few months.

Make me an offer for the parts.

I've got half a tube of Tuniq brand, seen no difference between it and AS5 in my experience.
If you want it, it's yours.

change of plans, going for a full new rebuild in november and sticking with what i have at the moment.

Cant really afford the minor upgrade until november anyway.
