Good games last saturday lads,

with the anticapted release of Shack Tacticals TTP2, we at TCF, want to have a one-of serious night, of buddy teams, organisation, platoons and general fun, not too serious but not as laid back as previous times.

we will be using a custom mission made by the beatiful chargat, and hope to have around 20/25 players on, we will be following the TTP2 as much as possible.

i was wondering if you guys would be intersted?

MadTommy
23-06-09, 18:18
I'm not a big one for acronyms.. what is TTP2?

Smuke
23-06-09, 18:26
Shacktac's tactics technique's and procedures guide, swear i saw a pos about it somewhere around here...

I'm game smuke, just pm me the details or post them here please :)

Smuke

Thanks Will, can i talk to you bout mission making some time?

TCF should have a server by then so you guys can keep your server mission going.

Smuke
24-06-09, 20:48
Just tested the mission, needs work, but should be done by sunday!

Chargat
24-06-09, 21:45
hey will, if you want to mess around with the mission files, go ahead! I will only have time to finalise it on saturday (busy week), and am all for it being improved.

@smuke: please keep me up to date on the progress.

Chargat

PS: concerning the ArmA project, I'm planning on porting it to ArmA2 sometime soon.

Smuke

Just Vil coming?

Nice to see a 20/30 player co-op going on.

27-06-09, 13:04
Can we have some details on the mission first?

MadTommy
27-06-09, 13:47
^^indeed.

No info regarding timing of event.. server details.. or anything else makes it kind of hard to attend. (unless it's been posted..if so i've missed it, apologies.)

Also asking us to follow the procedures of a massive tactical guide that i have not read doesn't make it that appealing atm.

TAW_Cutthroat
27-06-09, 15:08
I'll be there

I believe it's Sunday at 5pm?

Smuke
27-06-09, 18:04
Sorry, I swear I'd posted the info!

Yep Sunday 5pm. It wil lbe on our server (if we get it up by then), if not could we use your server? The mission will be quite simple, they'll be a town you have to capture and another objective that chargat has yet to tell me about. Seems quite simple, we just want to try and some tactics and get a co-op with some friends.

Vilhelm123
27-06-09, 20:14
Smuke mate, if its less than 24hours before show down and you still don't know if you'll have a server, shouldn't you have asked about using our server before?

If you get your game up then I'm up for taking part certainly sounds like alot of fun.

MadTommy
27-06-09, 20:34
Smuke..

What is the problem with your server at the minute?

Chargat
27-06-09, 20:41
A bit more info on the mission:
-It takes place in southern Chernarus (sorry, cant remember the exact name)
-There are several secodary objectives in place to help you out if you choose to take them.
-You are seperated in a total of 3 groups: recce, pilot and assault force.
-Your equipment is customisable.
-Main objective is to secure the village.
-A specific dosing of enemy forces to mix contacts, potshots and false alerts.
-None of the famous "drop CAS on them": the only resemblance to CAS you have is a bunch of UH1Ys
-No CPU overload from too many units (all people who helped test had it run pretty smoothly)
-The way it plays out will affect the next mission.
-A pretty nice location (personnal opinion)
-A few surprises (will probably know what I mean)
-Made by myself with the hlp of:
-[IS-DEV]Spyker
-[TCF]Cheditor
-[TCF]Smuke
-Addaco
-Others, to whom I am terribly sorry for not having the names in mind.

Sorry for the mess this is, just wrote things down as they came to mind.

For any furher questions, feel free to ask here. I'll be around another 40 min, then all tomorrow afternoon.

Chargat.

@tommy: I think it's because he ordered it today, but I dont know anything about servers, so I wont say any more.
UPDATE:
Your Armed Assault 2 server has been created. Here is your game server's information:
IP: 217.146.85.55
Port: 2302
Slots: 20
guess it's working....

Vilhelm123
27-06-09, 23:24
Sounds great Char, can't wait

My only question is why is it starting at 5pm? Why not after dinner? That way we don't have loads of people going AFK at random points...

Smuke
28-06-09, 09:36
Well, I want to start a 5 so that we can get all prepped up and briefed (last time it took over a hour) then we weill pause so people can get dinner etc.

I just dont want to be playing too late into the night. Maybe next sunday we can start later.

Ours servers up, but its running the wrong version.

Chargat
28-06-09, 09:37
Will, I can say for sure (will try to grab smuke at somestage and report back), but it might have something to do with some peple being busy afterwards. Then again, it also depends on what time people eat, because if they do anything like me (~7:30) it should be over by then (please note that that is 7:30 french time, but should be translated to 7:30 uk time).

I also wish to say that in the future, I will most probably be the one organising this (should happen as soon as TCF is fully running), so you should be getting info (amongst other things (screens. maybe?)) a lot faster.

TCF ArmA "officer",

Edit: smuke was faster!

Well, I want to start a 5 so that we can get all prepped up and briefed (last time it took over a hour) then we weill pause so people can get dinner etc.

That doesn't suit me either. Why you'd need a lengthy briefing then dinner then play a basic 'clear a town' mission.. all seems like way to much faffing about for me. Why would you need an hour planning for a clear the town mission? Shouldn't need more than 5 minutes.

Chargat
28-06-09, 11:44
Agreed tommy, dont see why on earth it should take 1 hour, even though it isnt as simple as "clear a town"...

You ask me, we should have it open for brief from 5, but have ops start at 6. In fact, I'll see if I can get this sorted when I catch him.

It's a bit late to start chaning now, sorry, We will start THE MISSION at 6pm, i just want people to be a bit early, so its easier to sort out.

All i wnat to do, by starting at 5pm, is so i can get everyone sorted, we can start early if we wish, or whatever, I just dont want to start at 6pm, because you tell everyone to come on at 6, there all having their dinners etc. so they wont be on till half 6,i get worried no one shows up.

Im sticking with 5pm, if you don't like the time mate, im not forcing you too come :)

Can you post your TS details please, for those interested in joining.

Regarding ArmA 2 servers, unfortunately ours is not available in the event you have problems with yours. We're in the middle of a Domination mission, which may last some time!

6pm is an odd time and a non starter for me. I have a wife i cook for and often sunday is roast night.

Prefer either start early afternoon i.e 2-4pm or after dinner..i.e 8 - 9 pm.

Hello again,

Teamwork Comes First and Romeo 2.5 another British based ArmA2 co-op clan, have decided on a joint operation, against AI. We have left a rifle section free, for anyone who is intersted in particapting. Here is the general details:

Time:Sunday 19th 6pm British Time
Teamspeak:PM me/ Xfire me for info
XFire:Smuke
Skill:We dont give a crap about your skill level, just be teamwork orientated.
Addons:None

Contact Info: Either PM or Xfire or through our site: Teamwork Comes First (http://tcf.blogsite.org/)

The mission should be fun, we're looking at between 20-30, if anyone's intersted just PM or hit me up on xfire, its no hassle for us.

Hope to see some of you there!

P.S. Medic and Vill nice to see you two in the previous ones, hope you can make these!

I dont know what kind of reaction this will get or whether theres anything in the works. But Me, Tegyr, LeChuckle and aload of the TCF guys have just finished playing a Tournament with a group of guys which you may or may not heard of called Romeo 2.5 Reallys good group of guys. By the sounds of it TCF and Romeo 2.5 are planning to meet up once a week on sunday (similar to what TCF and a couple of us from T&T have been doing). Now I dont know you guys think but I know me and a couple others think this is a good idea to perhaps try and T&T involved in this as well. Seems like the run this weekly event on the same ideals that T&T is built (Teamwork, mature evnironment etc.) So my question is to the rest of you, do we think this is perhaps a good idea. The pros I could suggest involve:

1) Raises our profile within the community
2) Presents the possibility for us to host matches
3) Is a good laugh and great experience for working alongside some really professional and dedicated guys
4) Gives us a good oppotunity for T&T members and regulars to hook up and have a good scrap.

Im trying to stimulate some conversation here guys as to what people think. Even if we find that its not worth trying I know there a few of us who will continue to enjoy this event.

Lets show them what we are made off!:salute::salute::salute:

Do you mean Tournaments or regular organised meetings? As you seem to be talking about one and calling it the other.

Regular organised meetings would be good, but i have no interest in tournaments.

Smuke
20-07-09, 11:09
Smuke here,

Im one of the guys in charge of organising the missions etc. Firstly, like to thank Vilhelm, Medic, Sarge, Chuckle and Tegyr, for showing up and giving us some great fun along the way, hope you enjoyed the missions.

In regards to you guys joining up, shouldnt be a problem ( Have to speak to hendrix first), BUT you guys will have to join in with the planning etc. maybe send Medic or Vilhelm (Guys i know best) to get with me and hendrix and get some mission ideas down etc.

I myself dont have a problem, just hope that you guys can keep showing up, and if you commit yourself you will have to try and bring a full section worth of men, which im sure you can.

They are really fun, and will get even funnier, your welcome to join in with TCF's Tactics night (Lead by Noob) to help imrpove our tactics etc. and just have some fun.

Hope that cleared up any problems.

Righto! C1R3 this week! Here's the info:

Campaign One Round Three (or C1R3) will take place this Sunday at 18:00 BST (if too many people cant make it, I have no problem with pushing it back by up to 1h). I will consist in the final battle over Bor, assisted by CAS and a few other surprises.

The briefing in itself will take place in-game, meaning all is done in real time.

For those who weren't there last time, I suggest reading this (http://tcf.blogsite.org/index.php?topic=99.0).

I am making this mission with the platoon structure in mind: One section (callsign BRAVO) will take up the roles of ordinary, ammo depleted Alpha squad; Two section (callsign CHARLIE) will enact Force Recon Team RAZOR; And AAC (Army Air Corps, which shall assign it's own callsigns) will take up the roles of the CAS pilots. In addition, the AAC's FAC will act as a member from Team RAZOR, to whom a LTD (Laser Target Designator) will be allocated.

Also, please note that the accomplishment of this mission will partly influence campaign Two.

Please also note that the presence of respawns is yet TBA (you know this one), but if they are present, a player's death will have consequences (2min respawn + spawn at airfield?)

Finally, do expect the usual amount of surprises, especially near the end.

Chargat.

PS: Any questions? Ask here (http://tcf.blogsite.org/index.php?topic=150.0)!

Since so many people can't make it early evening on a Sunday, would it be an idea to move it to Saturday and make it a later time say 7 or 8pm, or even 9pm? If it was on a Saturday then it shouldn't disrupt people who would have work/school/etc the next day (unless you work on a Sunday of course:p).

Just my 2.1 cents;)

MadTommy
23-07-09, 12:02
Agreed.. 7ish - 8ish on any day is a no go for me due to an evening meal. Starting at 6pm is therefore hopeless and a none starter. I have a family i need to provide dinner for.

Sunday afternoon would be my pick.

4pm - 7pm cool

post 8pm is cool.

But this has all been said previously.

New update.

As some of you might know, we have come up to an agreement with Romeo 25 along which TCF's ArmA section is to become R.25's 3 section. Thus, we have decided to have an extra match tonight! Tonight's match will mainly be the campaign finale. Tomorrow's game, which will also take place, will either be a second game, or whatever people want to do.

On a side note, following tonight's game, we are (minters and myself at least) planning to have a game of COH, which might interest some of you.

Chargat

PS: You're all invited :p

Vilhelm123
25-07-09, 16:14
Question: Will this mission be another, we walk there and then watch other people bomb stuff?

Chargat
25-07-09, 16:54
Nope, only possible explosions we have are player cotrolled CAS, and the intro, a pretext for blowing the target to bits (will give a reminder of the previous round before we start). The actual focus of this is to see how we can use combined arms against ready AI, equipped with MANPADS, and a bit more...

Hope to see you there.
Chargat.

UPDATE

The game now takes place at 7:30 PM BST. Hope that means more people can make it!

Hello lads!

We want to get back into bigger missions, and we've been a bit bored, but we're giving Operation Desperado's another go to see how it plays out with a more organised structure. We will be playing it on Wednesday 12th 7pm BST. It would be nice to see some of you there!

More info soon...
