Got it finally again!

well as the title says iv finally got ARMA working again, the damb direct to drive site i had got it from had not been responding etc etc, but lastnight i had another go and actually gave me a link! so now i got ARMA installing again! :D

so its 1.08 patch i believe so what do i need to get it up to the current?

and yes im downloading everything in the addons/mods thread as we speak, alas i didn't see the file with all of them in until after i started downloading :(


anythin else i need to know cos im a noob at ARMA now i bet after a year

(ACE have released 1.09 patch.. not sure if the server has been upgraded yet.. but i'm sure it will be shortly.)

You need the 1.14 patch.. then 1.16 beta patch. That will get the official arma patched up.. then you need to worry about mods & addons.

with the mod zip files, fo i just extract them into addons folder? or do i need to create seperate folders in the main folder and add the location on the shortcut location?

as this is where i fucked up last time, with the modding and then servers just started saying no you cant come in :(

I use separate folders for each mod or collection of mods... here is what my Arma folder looks like.. The files need to be in a folder called "addons", as you can see in the image..

And here is an example of my present shortcut.. with just ACE & Instant View mod enabled...

-nosplash -mod=beta;@InstantView;@ACE

You can just stick them all in the default addon folder... but if things go wrong its very hard to sort out.. keep track of wtf you have done with what file...etc etc.

There is a mod enabler program, but i personally dont use.. more hassle than its worth.. but others do and like it.

We seem to flicker between playing it all the time and hardly ever playing it. At the moment we are on a play it all the time run by the looks of it.

The main reason we stopped is that our server was down for quite some time. Arma servers are not easy to setup etc, in fact Arma itself is not easy to setup etc.;) And right now we are making up for its lose.

Between us, we play a lot games... so it goes in fits and spurts!
