Wow low spec.. i'm surprised.
Sound like a much better engine than Arma, in regards to being optimised well.

Dual Core CPU (Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz, Intel Core 2.0 GHz, AMD Athlon 3200+ or faster) Might just work
1 GB RAM Yup
GPU (Nvidia Geforce 7800 / ATI Radeon 1800 or faster) with Shader Model 3 and 256 MB VRAM No, but mine has done miracles before
Windows XP Oh noes, I has Vista... -.-
DVD (Dual Layer compatible) No idea, most likely
10 GB free HDD space For once, I do
Hope they'll have a demo so I can try it out before possibly buying it
The recommended specs look fairly high!

2.8 stock quad is £200 and 4850 is £140..... thats some fairly expensive stuff to meet 2 requirements

You guys going to promote this game inside your community ? Maybe even hosting a server or getting a regular squad together ? Because I am looking for a friendly bunch of lads to play it with.

If its any good then yes! Happy to have you join us too. I'll be getting it when I'm back.

Well I am quite flattered. Should make it official then and voice my inquiry in your recruitments section if I may do so.
Also I have found this one:

I am quite tempted to get it. Certainly I would be a most helpful and fun addition to the overall war simulation feeling increasing the degree of realism.
What do you guys think ?
A few people here, myself included have a TrackIR 4 - its adds a whole new dimension to ArmA 1 and the other flight sims we play

Same, wont get it release day but will hopefully get it soon after !
If not, my birthdays only 5 months away :p
I'd love a TrackIR too but wanting games/driving lessons/a car, things arn't within my budget atm !
Need money to pre order or order it lol.
Intel Core duo CPU t5800 @2.00GHz
Memory 3.00GB
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670
10 gigs check :P
I think that gets the requirements? barely?
i have given up on Arma 1 - I can never get on the server as I have no idea what patches/mods/missions/downloads I need and I cant be arsed messing around with it.
I might get Arma 2 though as I assume we will be playing it "out of the box" within minimal mods (at least for a while) so I know it will work.
Mr Wardle. Would you like some assistance? I'd be only too happy to help.
I can remote onto your machine (hide your kitty porn) and ensure everything's in the right place.
Won't be getting it for the foreseeable future

He took control of my machine and forgot to put it all in an addon folder =P
Although it was me who did that in the firstplace he just didnt notice :p
you let God into your computer?
It's also available on Steam, coming out on June 30th - and if you don't mind reading German, you can get it Direct Download from a german vendor or two online already lol.
Well here in Germany it actually was released about a week or two ago already but I am getting the UK release also.
I've ordered my copy from play.com - Fortunatly I've already booked the release date off from work for another reason.

Pre-orded from play aswell :) Will look forward to trying out Track-Ir with it !
would be nice to have a few games with you lot on it when it arrives :)
And you will of course be welcome to, dear Nickypoos :D
After a discussion on ordering last night, i have this to say
IT'S ORDERED NOT PRE-ORDERED FOOS
message ends :D
Well it's great we have so many keen for Arma2, should be a laugh, i hope the game wont let us down.
And many with or seemingly getting Trackir... very cool.
I'm nowhere near as overdrawn as I thought I would be at this stage - either I'm going to spend £200 on three nights out, or I should get myself some goodies... I think I'll get ARMA2 :)

The TIR will also be coming sometime after the end of this month when I should be getting a bonza-fat paycheck for all the unsociable hours I did in May :)

haha! Really cool if your pc can handle that ammount of bots! Must be fun to be in the middle of all that :P
Im also really impressed with the smoke and wrecks in that air video! And how the night setting looks in that huge battle! The way everything lights up and all! :GASP:
Oh my GTX 295 is going to love this.
Can't wait to get my hands on a copy!
Tho its a bit upsetting mp-wise there is only 50 players possible.
I mean taken into account that even PR lacks the right amount of players and there we are talking 64 per server.
^^ but arma has always, at least for me been about coop, so 50 humans facing and army of bots sounds a blast. I not sure i even want to play against other players... playing against bots seems to suite Arma... being a sim.. the bots do want they should do.. humans are too sneaky and cheat :p
Anyway it's likely we'll do most our playing together, on a private server, as we do Arma1...but yeah 50 is not a high number. Is there even a restriction in Arma 1?
Well I havent played ArmA I that much mostly because I couldnt find a) anybody to play it with or/and b) any populated server ( that didn't need some strange sort of addon/plugin/... ) but what I enjoy most is the competition between multiple human-played competent squads.
Now I might be wrong and discover that coop isnt that bad after all. We will see soon I guess. ;)
i liked the zombie-coops in OFP. normally i only played CTI
Would love it but I don't think my machine can handle it, anyone advise me there?
Intel® Core™2 Duo Mobile Processor Technology P8600 2.4GHz
Intel®PM45+ICH9M
4GB (2+2) DDR2 800
nVIDIA Geforce 9600M GT 3D Graphic Card (Built-in DDR3 512MB)
320GB SATA (5400RPM)
Yes I know its a portable but with VOIP i have to hide far away from sleeping family!!!
it meets the requirements
the cPU is a bit low I have no patience for lags if not time to but a €300 xbox
Cancelled my order at zailor.no and bought it online from Nexway, link to e-shop : http://www.toomai.co.uk/ for 25 £!!!
Hopefully downloaded within tomorrow. :-)
happy days!
i should be back soon... this a game worth getting among the other 100 or so that came out while ive been away? ;)
how do you guys who played ArmA 1 think it compares?
It plays, gameplay wise, the same. Ie, don't stand in front of bullets or you'll die.
Controls are virtually identical, but everything feels a bit smoother. Menu/UI is still a bit fiddly.
Graphically it's much better, but still (I don't think) doesn't look as good as most assets in PR. It has some fancy DX10 type effects, which are good if they don't make your eyes hurt or give you nausea lol.
It's worth getting for the different map and AceMod2 will be amazing, methinks.
thanks for that link Hanniz - downloading now (will take about an hour) - saves me mixing with the public in shops..........
