so i reformated my pc about 4 days ago and put vista ultimate (32 bit) on for the first time. since then its had major performance issues even with basic programs
for example
if i double click the TS shortcut to bootup TS, it locks up. completely. as in it doesn't register mouse movements, and if i try hitting the keyboard, i get the error bleep from the pc. it usually takes around a minute just for TS window to appear. and then it does it again if i close TS (ie takes a minute for the window to close and locksup while doing it
it also screwing with my BF2 files in that its now deleted the contains of the shaders folder on 3 seperate occations, and both bf2 and 2142 take usually long times to boot up, loading the next map (i.e. the next game will of started before it begins loading, or it simply CTDs)
ive disabled UAC, installed SP1 but neither have had much effect.
so what im asking is anyone else had similer problems, and how did you fix them? or should i just screw vista and go back to xp?
