Wii - Noob Help

Ok guys I am thinking about getting my 4yr old son a Wii for xmas. I have played it a little at my cousins house and we had a great time but I wanted some input.

Do you have one or have you played one?

Would you buy it. Yes or No?

Pros?

Cons?

Suggested accessories?

Suggested Games?

Anything accessories or games to avoid?

I've not actually played on them.. but my friends who have it rate it highly!.. Very good family console from all accounts.

I have one (rigged to a projector which gives a "screen" size of 8 foot by 10 foot).

its a great thing to have when you have a few mates around and are pissed - eg Wii sports (2 player boxing particularly).

One of our friends has a 3 year old who just about managed to work the 10 pin bowling game, not sure whether 4 is too young or not to be honest.

I also have a wii fit thing, which has never been switched on !

I have a Wii. It really is a great family entertainment system. Whether it be boxing while pissed, or playing party games with the kids, it's always great fun.

The graphics aren't as good as Xbox or PS3, but they're still very good (especially if you use a proper 5 plug component cable).

The Wii sports game that comes with it is very good, and there are plenty of other titles for all ages, though I haven't looked at anything for 4yr olds! I'm sure there's something to suit though!

I've got a Wii fit too - I'm just too lazy to use it!

I also picked up Resident Evil 4 for Wii yesterday for $20... Gotta have some adult games too :) Is there anything better then killing zombies?

For you, I could suggest Metroid prime 3 (a nice FPS), Zak & Wiki (a point & click), Battalion Wars (a strategy/action game), Zelda Twillight Princess and Okami (if you appreciate a game like zelda).

For you and your son : Mario Kart, Wario Ware, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Super Smash Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy.

And Wii Fit is only useful in order to put a wedge under a table ...

My son has one and they rock, I got him some wii points so I could download Lylat Wars onto it :D

can't praise the system enough, alot of gamecube games still rock and you can pick them up cheap and play them on wii too, you will need a gamecube remote though (theyre cheap too)
N64 and even commodore/atari/sega games can be downloaded with wii points.
