There is a rumour this is out tomorrow http://games.gamepressure.com/game_info.asp?ID=6664
Can't see anything on the official site though!
Oooh oooh oooh! Would be good if it is...
When it does come out, I'm assuming we'll be forming a T&T shark squadron to go kill some yankee bastards? :D
Interesting to note that like LOMAC/FC they're likely to release add-ons for additional aircraft, fixed-wing and rotorary.
i really hope my rig can hack it on fairly decent settings!

Oooooh, havent really been following this one, but it sure looks nice :D
Would be different, a realistic chopper sim, cant wait to try it out.
/me hopes & prays his 1.9Ghz cpu will find enough willpower to run it ! :(
Sarge.
Wouldn't hold out much hope Banner, flight sims don't require very high FPSes (20 is usually playable) but they do take a decent amount of computing power for the physics etc.
If the engine is just the same one from LOMAC, you'll be fine - but I really hope it's not because for the full price of a new game and many years down the line I'd expect them to be producing something a little more polished than LOMAC now.
Tommy - what're you running on?

Blackshark is a new development of the lock on principle - similar but a new engine.
I would bet you could double any minimum specs and still only get reasonable FPS!
Tommy - what're you running on?
AMD 3500+ (2.2GHz) :o , 2 GB DDR3 RAM, ATI 1950pro 512 VRAM (life saver), x-fi sound
Its my cpu i need to boost... 939 socket.. :(
I heard it was on the same engine as locmac. But could be wrong.
From Black Shark forums, Q&A on DCS:
Q: What are DCS: Black Shark minimum specifications?
A: Although not final, we project the minimum specification to be as follows: CPU: 2 GHz; RAM: 1 GB; Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce FX with 256 MB of RAM / ATI Radeon X1300 with 256 MB of RAM or equivalent; 3 GB free HD space; Operating system: Windows XP SP2 and Vista with DirectX 9 or 10.
That's dirt minimum and will look like shit, tho ;)
So yeah, you'll be fine.
From going over the forums a bit more, Black Shark is based on the same engine as LOMAC, with improvements - so will render on DX9.
Future DCS versions though are being worked on that use a new engine, though.
BS will be KA-50 only, with aircraft added only when they meet the same standards - 6DoF cockpits, clickable consoles etc.
Well according to the insiders at ED forums.. the release date is total bullshit.
We'll see tomorrow.
