k i just installed pr 0.8 and as soon as i click on the server it crashes like just before it tries to load a map.
how can i fix this? i tried looking on the pr forums but the site wont load up

and if you have, it's possible it may be corrupted, Did the download pause at all? - Redownload and try again (Painful I know)
you've deleted your shaders yeah ?

No no no! Don't delete those! You need to delete the files in the shaders cache located in:
My Documents\Battlefield 2\Cache\
NOT the shader zips!

are you running at 800x600 resolution?
yea as masaq says, it crashes when u run it on 800x600 or lower.

I CTD also...I dont have that path, this is mine.

Delete 'em, restart the game and it should re-load your shaders when you load a map. It's worth doing that on a localhost server, it'll save the connection time etc.
If that doesn't work, I hate to say it but uninstall PR via the control panel, uninstall BF2, make sure everything BF2/PR is deleted from My documents and Program Files etc, restart the PC and then reinstall:
vBF2
Restart PC
1.41 Patch, FULL
Restart PC
Load up BF2, create your settings - video, audio etc.
Load up a BF2 map locally to force shaders to be set
Close BF2
Install PR CORE
Install PR LEVELS
Then try...

The correct path to your shaders that you can delete if you are having problems is:
C:\Documents and Settings\'User'\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache
Where c: is the drive that you have installed on & user is your user account name
k yeh it actually works now when i set my resolution higher but then i just get kicked by punkbuster, handshaking failed, this game has so many bugs its unberleivable, ahh i was looking forward to it aswell.
basically you can only play this game if uve got a really good comp
Punkbuster has nothing to do with the game, or any bugs it might have. You don't HAVE to run a server with PB (but everyone does of course).
Your problem is not with PR. It's with Evenbalance. Do a PB update.
lol i update PB manually before i go on PR all the time and it always lets me play but now that i set my res higher n its more laggy PB kicks men i cant get on at all unless it doesnt lag
do as i did, ACTIVATE ( :S :S :S ) the windows firewall ( yes i know :S:S:S) to make PnkbstrB.exe !success! in handshaking. make sure it is allowing pnkbstrB.exe to reach the internet(the box was already checked for me, many applications automatically add exclutions). worked for me, ive had handshaking failed problems for a long time, especially on T&T. this weekend i couldnt join T&T at all, pnkbstrB.exe was extra mad at the t&t server
