2. Which system utilities do u guys use - i.e. system mechanic, norton utilities etc...

3. Windows updates - yes or no?

2:Norton Antivirus & Firewall.

3:Windows updates: yes, I do download them, though I hate servicepack2 but still, I recommend it.

Partitioned 80gig HD, 6 gig OS with FAT32, 74gig NTFS (my advice, stick with one file system.
Mcafee Firewall/Privacy service/Anti Virus.

Hijack This
