This is a nube apology and plea to be un-banned for team killing (well i assume it was tk, as I was a gunner firing from a Warrior AFV, at what i took to be PLA infantry, some 3-400m away, entering a village). This fire must have been effective, as i was kicked shortly afterwards. This was a week a go, Fri - sat 4-5 Jul 08 i think. I wasnt sure if there was a "ban period", as i couldnt log back to your server from PR. Hence my registering and apologiseing for my action.
This wasnt a deliberate TK, but ignorance on my part as to how PR works and the spotting and keyboard shortcuts work etc, not helped by my mike being U/S and having to type "team/squad" messages for advice etc.
I know this is no excuse for ruining some ones "playing experience, but i had only installed PR a day or two before and was unsure what "key" did what and how the game works, (so much going on and people shouting at you etc. I had downloaded your guide & wiiki guide, as well as making notes, but still alot going on for a nube). I didnt know that "X" gives you gunner zoom optics, as the "targets" were not showing up as friendlies (i take it because my optics were not on full zoom, they didnt register as blue ?) and I was slow to realise how to identify friendlies at distance on the HUD map.. "N" & "M" ?
I had been driving the AVF, with a separate gunner but he left the game or the vehicle (not sure which, so i took the gunner position). I had been playing very sucessfully earlier, as a gunner in Challenger2, with no mishaps. The driver was a frenchman i think, he was helping me to get to grips with the game for the 1st time (ammo types etc) and complimented me on my teamwork and gunnery skills (must have been lucky, as i didnt know about the "x" = ZOOM) !
I have been playing PR, off and on the last few days and have got a much better idea of how it now works etc and the responsibility you have as player to ensure you dont hit friendlies.
I have played on a few servers, "Tactical Gamer, British Army and IGI... but enjoyed the quality and help (even if short lived !) of the players on T&T.
Consequently, i have registered today with T&T, written this apology and made a £10 donation to your server costs. I would be most gratefull if you would consider my apology for "nube" TKs and un-ban me from your server, it wasnt itentional. Pretty please please.
