View Full Version : question about how to get the BR file the same way you clan does
MY clan was recently making a vid in PR and we set BR to not auto upload to prevent lag, but we havent figured out how to retrive the BR file off of the server.
any of the tech gurus here able to ofer any suggestios or instructions?
thank you
First - please don't bump a message on the same day you've posted it. We do have lives away from our keyboard - and most of us are fast asleep at 4.45am ...
Second - please state what exactly it is you want to do. In our case, we use BF2's build in functionality to FTP the BR files to our webserver. In addition, we have an extra script called BFR Manager (http://two.elxx.net/) which processes the BR file before upload and adds the map/player info etc.
Third - if you post a reply and require a response, please be patient. This is a website, not a customer service department.... ;)
so sorry
i live in western canada so it was noon when i first posted and then 2100 when i next posted
and the whole impatiance is kinda related to the project haveing a due date :(
but again sorry and thanks
That's quite alright.
Now answer my question and I might be able to help!
see i need do a demonstration of modern tatics in warfare (i,e. convoy protection, air support, building clearing, etc.) for history class and me and a few clan mates got the leaders to turn on BR for us to make the videos and when the round was over the server did not put it in the downloads section of BF2, so i asked the head, who it turns out is out of country, so i had to ask one of the directors to retrive the file, but he cant seem to find it and our other BR guru is quite busy currently.
and i remeber one of your admins saying one night that he was downloading and then uploading the br file to the website.
so my question is how do we do that?
thank you for your help
As you may know, BF2 has built-in funtionality to FTP BR files to another location. It does this at the end of each round, when the file is 'closed' (the file is 'opened' at the start of each round, which is why it's filename reflects the date/time the round starts).
The built-in functionality is configured with settings in serversettings.con, and also rotate_demo.cfg.
If demo recording has been set up (in serversettings.con) but not done correctly in rotate_demo.cfg, then the files will not copy to another location. They will merely remain in their default location.
The default location for the files, is either <BF2 server folder>\mods\PR\demos or <BF2 server folder>\mods\BF2\demos. This depends on how you've set up BF2CC.
thank you so much it worked perfectly
