A possible Scrim?

Hey guys,

My name is Dirtboy and I am from Tactical Gamer. I was wondering if you would like to scrim against us. We are fully aware that you are a community rather than a clan...much like us. That being said, I would like to challenge you to a full on 32 v 32 match.

I wasn't sure where to post this or how to go about it, so sorry if this was the wrong forum. Anyway, just let me know:)

I tell you what, while I'd be up for playing a 32v32, I'd be even more interested in a 12 v 12 or 18 v 18 on a 16p layer of something like Op Archer, with one-life rules.

Basically you'd play a 16p AASv2 round with a very very VERY long respawn time set for players (if possible, or just insist on players holding their spawn on death - an impartial BF2CC or in-game judge would be needed).

We'd have to maybe play 4 rounds over two maps to let everyone get the hang of it properly, but it could be very fun indeed - playing PR as close to reality as the game allows.

Not really the kind of thing you can do with 32 players a side - the first 16 to die would be bored as hell after 5 minutes of death while the other 48 fight it out - but when there's only two or three squads per side (you'd basically be mimicking an individual squad or platoon-sized engagement in part of a larger engagement) - it's something that would be possible.

Dead players could have Freecam enabled and by turn their HUDs off to be able to see how their sides do after their own deaths.

Rounds would probably be very quick, but it's got the potential to be VERY intense and scary, methinks.

An organised scrim would be a great idea. As a TG contributing member, who would I play for? :p

In addition, however, I have to say I'm a little annoyed with TG - Tempus in fact.

So, how about we agree in principle to a scrim, on the condition that Tempus actually replies to any of the numerous PMs I've sent him, at tacticalgamer.com, over the past few months, regarding another matter.

We did something similar in Red Orchestra Masaq, in fact it was an entire campaign being played out that way and it failed horribly for a very specific reason. The maps aren't made or balanced for that kind of play. And I fear PR might be a bit same when it comes to balance with one life rules.

Though it's always worth giving a try and see how it pans out. Also rather than giving dead people freecam, at least restrict it to spectating members of their own team, you can't do much ghosting then and it beats staring at a black screen for the next 15 minutes.

Now about the scrim. The reason I posted this was to spark some interest within your community. My suggestion would be to see how many people you could get and we can go from there.
