err just being a total skeptical old fart... xfire why what etc..

i just see this as another app sucking my cpu & RAM... i looked at it once.. registered i think.. but immediatley removed. Its not hard to find peeps on the 4 populated PR servers!

Am i missing something?

Its an instant messenger that can be used ingames. I dont use it since i find it easier to shout out "ENEMY 285 ROOFTOP !" Rather than press the shortcut to find all my squad members, THEN type that out ...

Its just with PR requiring a lot of situational awareness, I hate having all the overlays on screen.

Mind you, I haven't used it since I started playing 0.6 ...

So it could have totally changed !

EDIT: OK, it seems the new user signup on the xfire program was FUBAR, did it in the web instead !

I got rid of it today. i've not used it so no point having it. My msn is for people i want to have it otherwise i can be contacted in TS or on here.

You could also use it to help stop rulebrakers on the server. e.g Someone is baseraping and a admin isn't ingame but is on Xfire you could contact them using it. It's quite helpfull sometimes.

tbh TS is handy, I use it when Im either not on TS/VT or in another game, also you can see who is actually online playing say PR but arnt on TS

I always use xfire, like Eddie says...it's good for stalking people into games :P
plus people who aren't on vent/ts you can tell them to join.

(btw you can turn off the annoying sounds etc in options)
