Today I had a guided tour with the Dutch air force. They were om winter training and we accidentally talked with them and later got a guided tour of the CH-47 Chinook and the Cougar. We didn't fly this time though.

Just for "proof" I added a text note "T&T 4EVER". Pics are taking with a mobile phone so quality is not so good. But then again the motives are superb!

I always though the Chinooks were bigger than that, they look quite small in the pics (they are chinooks ?)

It was a CH-47 Chinook indeed. Maybe it looks small on the picture, but I can assure you it was pretty big. The pilot told us that it could carry 2 Gelenderwagons (picture under) inside the helicopter if they wanted. They usually put one inside the chopper, one hanging under and then fill the rest of the space with soldiers. He also told me they had done an evacuation of civilians from the Helmand province in Afghanistan during a flooding last year. They had then filled the chopper with over 100 civilians!

Guess the stewardess with the tax-free wagon was frustrated and going to the toilette was a nightmare...

That looks awesome! After the summer holidays i'm gonna join the Dutch Airforce if I manage to pass all the tests. Tests will be in a month or two i guess but i'm quite exited!

Anyway, great pics, love the chinook!
