View Full Version : MCM Video Tutorial - Making a DIY FreeTrack Headset in 20 Minutes
I spent some time on this so hope it's helpful. I prefer the cap mounted version but this is equally user friendly and if you have all the bits ready you can knock it up in 20 minutes or less:

awwww i feel all peaceful and at one now... lalalalooolaaadeeeoo.. finished with an old marching goose step!
ok now i am going to have to make one.. very nice.
At the end there it looked like you were moving the trackir device closer to the screen and it was zooming....so does this works as a zoom view as well in lomac.. if so OMG me wants we wants!
Yuss indeed. It's EXACTLY the same as a TrackIR rig. It's called 6DOF or 6 degreess of freedom. You can also adjust all the sensitivities as well, although in LOMAC it's Left, Right, Up, Down and Zoom In and Zoom Out. In techy speak that relates to:
Roll
Pitch
Yaw
X-Axis
Y-Axis
Z-Axis
As for design, it can be anything at all, absolutely anything, that projects 3 points of light at your web camera.
