Ok yesterday i installed the software/drivers for my Logitch 3D pro joystick.
Previously i had been using the default winXP drivers with no problem. But i also had no force feedback.

Since installing and enabling force feedback my stick has gone nuts. I'm still investigating wtf is going on...

Initially flight needs to be trimmed heavily to stop my nose diving for the ground. Then after flying for a short time the stick gets forced all the way forwards..forcing me to pull back on it constantly. Like its in a forced dive. No amount of trim would/will help.

It appears that disabling force feedback stops this occuring.

Is anyone else having trouble with force feedback or this joystick? or any ideas for me.

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro ?

If so, im not sure if its a stick problem or LOMAC, but my plane seems to want to eith bank to the left or nosedive without any pressure on the stick ...

Does the actual stick move forward, or does the plane just nosedive ? cos this sounds like my problem, yet i haven't tried force feedback ...

I have a logitech force 3d pro, after taking it apart nearly every piece of movable plastic was worn to bugger, Hardly ever used the thing.

Pissed off because the dam thing is busted and does what you say Banner, except every direction.

Solution I say... Buy Saitek

The main center spring has two clipped points on its wire that come out from the coil. The sharp edges are wedge in the a soft plastic catch that (on mine) just completly disintergrates under the grinding sharp edges of the bits of wire every time the spring flexes

Bad description I know... Think of it as the suspension springs on your car embedded in cheap taiwan plastic

I've been happy with my Force 3D pro... it hasn't given me any trouble.

I was happy with it with Lockon and PR, but i forgot it had force feedback, so i downloaded the latest software for it.. which since installing has been a bit of a nightmare... not only has my stick started doing weird shit also lomac started crashing on mission loading straight after the install.

The force feedback is nice when its working...but i'll have to have it turned off untill i find a solution.

I'll start by dumping the logitech profiler software

The stick moves forwards..forced by the springs.. forcing me to pull back.

Your problem isnt to do with your 'trim' , in the A-10 you need to trim alot, not sure about the F-15

Have a look here... what looks like some really good utilities for joysticks. http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htm

There are several that look good.. i'm presently looking at DXTweak 2.. looks the business.

The logitech software is pants... for some reaon when its installed you cant calibrate the stick in control panel. It needs to be removed.

I seem to have resolved my problem.. but i'll need some time to do some testing.. if its worked i'll try explain what i've done... but its basically calibrating, and messin about with DXTweak 2

Also the lomac crash i was getting was due to the weather.dll on the map i was using as a test.. and the weather was pretty funky on that map.. so nothing to do with the logitech software.

OK... well I reckon that force feedback is not work the hassle. I was happy with my logitech force 3d pro before turning on the force feedback.

There are too many negative side effects. I'm worried the springs will destroy the inside of the stick as Cain describes, it reduces FPS and it is acting like a Kamikaze autopilot and just doing weird stuff.
